The name Kira Lu̽qû is derived from the Wareneese language, as Kira Lu̽qû was founded by Hokh́a Trg̈mèqtho, who was culturaly Wareneese.
Climate
Kira Lu̽qû has a yearly average temperature of 6°C (42°F), with its average temperature during the summer being an icy 24°C (75°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant -12°C (11°F). Kira Lu̽qû receives an average of 258 cm/y (101 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of snow during the pleasantly short winter months. Kira Lu̽qû covers an area of nearly 4 km2 (1 mi2), and an average elevation of 1750 m (5741 ft) above sea level.
Overview
Kira Lu̽qû was founded durring the late 13th century in winter of the year 1179, by Hokh́a Trg̈mèqtho. The establishment of Kira Lu̽qû was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Hokh́a Trg̈mèqtho electing to pay people to resettle in Kira Lu̽qû.
Kira Lu̽qû was built using the conventions of Wareneese durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Kira Lu̽qû is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.
Kira Lu̽qû is was constructed arround several restrictive cobblestone mainstreets which cross one another at certain axies, with smaller streets branching off of them to premit acess to the many buildings deeper into the road network. The overall fashion is remenessent of a circulatory system, or other organic construct, and is quite effishent in its design. The town has a defencive wall made from large clay bricks. The wall is constructed to the exact specifications of millitary fortifications, but the nature of its clay brick construction leaves it vulnerable to even outdated siege equipment. That said, the town is well defended against anything short of an army. Astonishigly, the brittle defences are in pristine condishion, as if they had just been finished before you laied eyes upon them.
Kira Lu̽qû is not quite well. Something happened here, perhapse recently, perhapse long ago. Whatever it was, it settled into the very soul of the town like a festering wound. The people go about their day well enough, but there’s a tention in the air you can cut with a knife.
Civic Infrastructure
Kira Lu̽qû has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Kira Lu̽qû.
Kira Lu̽qû has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.
Kira Lu̽qû has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.
Kira Lu̽qû has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Kira Lu̽qû's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.
Kira Lu̽qû has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.
Kira Lu̽qû has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.
Kira Lu̽qû has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.
Cultural Notes
Life is hard in Kira Lu̽qû. Its people are impoverished compared to their peers elsewhere. Something is making the locals stay, however, whether fear of the alternative, hope for a better future, or a stubborn attachment to their ancestral lands. Whatver the reason, living in this harsh area for generations has made the people of Kira Lu̽qû a notably resourceful and hearty people.
Kira Lu̽qû's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known for its buildings being predominantly formed through the combination of basic geometric shapes. However, it shown in the detailing given to the structures such as its characteristic tall columns, intricate detail, symmetry, harmony, and balance in their designs to an astonishing degree of precision. Decorative elements for the buildings tended to be built into the structure itself, making great use of fluting, frescoes, inlays, and embossing.
Due to the actions of local Kami, spring is short in Kira Lu̽qû.
The Hungry Flesh near Kira Lu̽qû are known to be more aggressive than normal.
Kira Lu̽qû's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves orgies to channel Augury energies of tier 2 via oath swearing.
